After watching the first half of this two season monster, I have to say, this is probably one of the best series I've ever seen “Gundam Seed meets Ouran High School Host Club + bit of politics and other stuff mixed into it” – yeah thats how its summed up for me, It is very interesting with plot twists and turns one after another that keep you guessing on what’s going to happen next.

Code Geass is an excellent show with a strong theme of duality. The story takes place in a futuristic world where Japan has been invaded by an Empire known as Britannia. Using giant mechanized robots, the Empire reduces Japan to one of its territory known as Area Eleven. The story follows the lives of two friends: Lelouch Lamperouge, second to the throne of Britannia, and Suzaku Kururugi, son of the former prime minister of Japan. Their contrastive ways of life make a big wave to rock the empire. A new legend of the 21st century is about to begin.

The character and mech designs are some of the best work I've seen come out of CLAMP. The voice cast is excellent and the music fits the show completely. The plot keeps you on your toes and the themes that really make you think. The best part of the show are the character portrayals.

Lelouch Lamperouge: Son to the King of Britannia, second in line for the throne. His mother was killed when he was young, leaving him and his handicapped sister to fend for themselves. He has sworn to Suzaku that he will destroy Britannia, and he is known for using ruthless methods for achieve that goal. He has also been shown to have a great amount of decency - such as loyalty to those close to him and respect for human life (albiet he does kill great amount of people). A lot of women around him respect and admire him. One of the main themes of the show is the effect of his sometimes ruthless methods on his decency. He is a master strategist and is extremely good at playing chess. It is always good to see a smart protagonist as opposed to dumb idealistic protagonist. Due to a coincidence, a female android named C.C forms a contract with Leouch and he is granted a power known Code Geass. This power allows him control anyone he wants by looking at him/her. He takes control of the terrorist rebellion and dons the guise of a masked hero known as Zero. He is nicknamed The Black Prince.

Suzaku Kururugi: Son of the former prime minister of Japan, and a member of Britannia's "eleven" security force. While he recognizes that Britannia is not worth serving, he fights on their side to end the violence and bloodshed the terrorists have inflicted. He believes in enacting reform within the empire. One of the main themes of the show is his struggle with the constant betrayal against him from the very people he is supporting. He is very decent, known for saving and shown great concern for the people in which Leouch's reckless plans have endangered. By coincidence, he is granted control of a unique and almost unstoppable mech known as Lancelot. He is nicknamed The White Knight.

This show contains one of the best dualities I have ever seen. Each episode is gripping and contains many plot twists. One of the best anime I have ever seen. It does help that the graphics are all top notch.
10/10 on everything. I recommend anyone who is looking for a new anime to watch to get into this series!

Awesome review stromrider, and Code Geass ~Lelouch of the Rebellion~ is a pretty awesome anime and I recommend it to anyone. Too bad they had halted the last two episodes, I nearly forgetting about it. There is also a second season to this if I'm not mistaken.

Indeed And what carnage this will turns out to be, i heard it's coming out this summer (Damn you Sunrise )
it is going to be somewhat painful for us curious viewers, having to wait this summer to watch the end of this first season. I at least hope it's going to be really entertaining and well-planned, since they're taking their sweet time to animate these final episodes . Goro Taniguchi surely likes to tease us with cliff-hangers everytime.

Last Episodes of Code Geass Premiere in July



Anyways, it has been reported the last two episodes of Code Geass (ep. 24 & 25) will be premiering on July 21st and both ( will be - i think - look here => http://en.wikipedia...._Geass_episodes) to be aired on TV on 28th of july.
The premiere screenings of the two episodes, which will be shown in Osaka once and then in Tokyo twice the next day. These screenings seem to also have a half-hour special event with the actors as well.

Perhaps it will be fansubbed by the end of July?

ahha.........as for Second Season - The continuation to Code Geass has not been confirmed or television yet, despite mistranslated reports in late 2006. The creators were reportedly considering a plan of a half-year broadcast run, a half-year break, and another half-year broadcast run in the beginning, but that plan was not set in stone.

The official blog in March specifically cautions that the creators don't even know if Code Geass will return as television series, an OVA release, or a theatrical film.

however there are Rumours that Season Two has already been confirmed for Fall 2007, so if it is then it won't be too long.

Code Geass is one of those anime that you cannot stop watching.
You will get addicted to it from the first episode.
What I like about it is the art in it. The character designs are unique in many ways.
Created by Sunrise9 (the people who gave you gundam)
It was directed by Gorô Taniguchi(dir: s-CRY-ed) and scripted by Ichirô kouchi (he scripted RahXephon)
And featured character designs by the noted all-female Clamp mangaka group.( They worked in Chobits, Cardcaptor Sakura, Magic Knight Rayearth and X/1999)

Watt it means. It means we got an anime with beautiful character designs.
One hell of a story
Action scene that will blow your mind off.
What more do you need?
